Synopsis:
In his lifetime, Vietnam veteran John Rambo survived several harrowing ordeals and has since retired into a simple and secluded lifestyle in Thailand, where he spends his time collecting snakes for local entertainers and chauffeuring locals in his old PT ship. While he tries to escape trouble, trouble has a way to reach him: a group of Christian missionaries for human rights, headed by Michael Burnett and Sarah Miller, approach Rambo with the intention to rent his boat to fly to Burma up the river. Burma has been a war zone for over fifty years. The region's Karen people, made up of peasants and farmers, have undergone harshly repressive rule by the murderous Burmese military and have been fighting every day for survival. Rambo accepts the offer after some inner reflection, and brings Michael, Sarah, and the rest of the missionaries up the river. When the missionaries actually arrive in the village of Karen, the sadists find themselves part of a raid....
